Everyone, through experience or training, will typically employ an "influencing style" that they have become most comfortable with.  Unfortunately 80+ percent of the time it is not the most effective/productive style.  The Personal Profile instrument helps a Project Manager understand the options available to influence project outcomes.  A Project Manager must be able to communicate in a way that results in the desire outcome.  This instrument will help you understand the influencing style choices and serve to validate the reason(s) for selecting a specific influencing style. If a Project Manager is "locked in" on one influencing style they may want to reconsider their options.
