Since projects are a major component of what drives the successful achievement of a company's strategy, it becomes obvious that the project manager should be constantly aware of the process that was used to select the project.  Based on that selection process the project manager must maintain a close tie to what impacts the execution of the project might have on the organizational strategy.  Understanding this linkage and how to keep it is a critical consideration for the project manager.
