Project managers must be sensitive to the needs and wants of the project's individual contributors.  The approach used in maximizing the productivity of every project participant must be carefully crafted.  The most effective method to achieve this goal has proven to be Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs. This method considers where people are on a five level hierarchy and provides insight into how best to meet the individual's needs while improving project performance.  Easy to understand AND easy to use.
