"Creating the Framework" - with Lee R. Lambert, PMP, PMI Fellow (2009)

This component of this special learning program will examine the various processes available to today’s project manager.  In recent years, the profession of project management has made significant gains in providing organizations a framework for executing their projects] and meeting their strategic objectives.  These frameworks provide the structure for developing and implementing a Project Management Information System (PMIS).  Individuals who study the various processes and become adept at applying them will substantially increase their potential for success.  In this session, we will discuss:

  1. The Past

  1. The Present

  1. The Future

  1. Keys to Successful Implementation

  1. Determining Value Add

  1. What’s in it for YOU?

"Value Add Tools" - with Billy Mwape. MBA, PMP

A strategic plan is your set of tools and resources mapped to your project(s). You will not require all your tools every time, but knowing which ones are right for each job is a crucial part of smooth project management. In this module I will give my expert knowledge on the process of mapping critical organizational IT projects to meet strategic objectives. With covid19 accelerating digital transformation, it is important for learning organizations to become agile in running strategically driven IT projects while focusing on a clear scope, thoroughly managing the risks, understanding the procurement process and computation of ROI.

This Module will address;

  1. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Requirements, Design, Implementation, Test, Maintenance as a process used by the software industry to design, develop and test high quality software and how it fits into the Project Management Life cycle.

  1. Scope Management; Understanding functional requirements, managing gold-plating and UATs in IT Enterprise projects

  1. Risk Management; Addressing overlooked project risks such as attrition

  1. Contract Management; aligning project schedule with contract management in public procurement

  1. Virtual Team Management; Effective virtual collaboration – Communication management

"People" - with Abigail Mwape, MBA, PMP

Social Projects are the technical expression of solutions to general interest problems and a means to change unfavorable or problematic situations into convenient aspects in benefit of society. Unlike economic projects where a feasibility study is based on which project has the highest Net Present Value or the shortest Payback Period, social projects focus on the need that a specific endeavor tends to fulfil. In this segment we will focus on :

  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Management – how do we identify the stakeholders and ensure that they are all on the same page? Avoiding Scope Creep

  1. Risk Management

  1. Project communication

  1. Customer/Beneficiary Buy-in and sustainability

  1. Assessing project impact – Was it worth it?

There will be a brief Q&A at the end of session and a 30 minute Q&A at the conclusion of the program. All presentors will be available via email after the event is over, if you have any additional questions or follow-up comments.

Please email admin@lambertconsultinggroup.com if you have any difficulty registering.
